Prior to Zionism, there was no need for the Arabs of Palestine to focus on Palestinian identity. They were citizens of the Ottoman Empire. When, during the mandate years the British made contradictory promises, Arabs had the right to expect eventual self-rule. Palestinians might well have been a part of a larger South Syria, or of a Greater Syria, and happily so. They certainly would not have been ethnically cleansed under those circumstances.

Todo el territorio Israelí debería ser llamado Palestina, puesto que Israel nunca fue creado de manera legal y se niega a definir sus fronteras. The original Land of Israel consisted all of Jordan part of Syria & Iran. Israel was invaded by the Romans & the Ottoman empire. But even under harsh persecution the native Jewish ppl still lived there & never left. History concurs with the entries in the Bible & Koran, which both acknowledge Israel as the Jewish Homeland. So your correct the Land was stolen from the Jews, but now we have a small part back. The Land of Israel was reinstated in 1948 on a tiny fragment of its former size. Thanks !
